The scenic Clovelly Country Club hosted the 4th and final Clovelly Junior Winter Series event for the 2021 season – played in absolutely perfect weather conditions. The Clovelly Junior Winter Series was a club initiative,  started in 2018, to promote competitive golf amongst the Under 13 and Under 15 age groups.

In the Under 15 age group Conrick Lucas (KD Mowbray GC) beat Bjorn Nord (Metropolitan) in a play-off, after both players finished regulation play in gross 73s. Jaydon Galant (KD Mowbray) and Tristan Boise (Atlantic Beach Links) were joint 3rd on gross 75. Tristan had 5 birdies on the day but 8 bogeys derailed a great return.

Jaydon Galant was the star performer of the series, bagging 3 wins and a 3rd place. A really impressive performance considering the high standard of under 15 golf currently being played in the Western Province.

The Under 13 division was a tight affair with Henru Walters (Durbanville) edging out local member Evan Marais by a single shot. Henru recorded a gross 77. A steady round of 6 bogeys and a single birdie was the hallmark of Henru’s round.

The Under 13B division was won with an impressive 43 points by the fast improving Daniel Roos (Clovelly) with Luke Jacobs (Royal Cape) finishing 2nd on a respectable 38 points.
