Durbanville Golf Club, known as the jewel of the north, held its annual Junior Championship on May 19, 2024.

 

In the Under-19 division, a tight match unfolded between local members Jano Stone and Henru Walters. Jano completed the front nine four under par, with back-to-back eagles on the par fives, leading into the back nine with a three-shot advantage. Henru, however, narrowed the lead with birdies on the 11th, 13th, and 15th holes, clinching the Durbanville Junior Championship with a four-under-par 68.

The Under-15 division saw a fierce battle between Evan Marais and Junkai Zhu. Junkai was in the clubhouse leading with a one-under-par 71 for an hour, but Evan overtook him with birdies on the 5th, 6th, 9th, 11th, and 15th holes, ending with a two-under-par 70.

 

 

Nicholas Jansen van Rensburg emerged victorious in the Under-13 division with a gross score of 76. He edged out Christian Swanepoel with a 77, and Alwyn Rossouw, who finished with a 78.
