JACO PIETERS SECURES VICTORY AT THE 2026 WP SENIOR MASTERS

The 2026 WP Senior Masters was contested at King David Mowbray Golf Club, where a strong field of senior golfers competed under favorable conditions, setting the stage for two days of high-quality golf.

In Round 1, Clive Lazarus (Durban Country Club) and Weyers Janse van Rensburg (Milnerton) set the early pace with excellent rounds of 70 (-2), while Robbie Oosthuizen (Bellville) matched that score to remain firmly in contention. Cameron Johnston (KD Mowbray) positioned himself well with a 71 (-1), while Jaco Pieters (Devonvale), Riaan Lewis (KD Mowbray), and Tony Louw (AB Links) all carded rounds of 72 (E) to stay within close reach of the leaders heading into the final round.

Round 2 provided a decisive shift in the leaderboard, with Jaco Pieters producing a standout performance to claim the title. His superb round of 67 (-5) saw him finish on 139 (-5), securing a well-deserved victory. Cameron Johnston mounted a strong challenge with a 69 (-3) to close on 140 (-4), just one shot behind the winner, while Clive Lazarus maintained consistency with a 73 to finish third on 143 (-1). Weyers Janse van Rensburg (70, 75) secured fourth place on 145 (+1), followed by Robbie Oosthuizen (70, 76) on 146 (+2).

The championship was ultimately defined by Pieters’ exceptional final round to secure a deserving victory.

 In the Super Senior division, Tony Louw claimed top honours.
