NICOLAS VAN DER VYVER CLAIMS ERINVALE OPEN

The 2026 Erinvale Open took place on Sunday, 24 May where we saw a delayed start to the day due to poor visibilty. when the fog lifted players could not have asked for better weather, sunny skies and a slight breeze.
In the Men’s Division – round 1 Jacob Taskes (Devonvale) and Booye Walters (Bellville) both fired rounds of 69 to lead the field. As the day started heating up as well as the players after a first round 71 (-1), Nicolas van der Vyver (Strand) carded a 68 (-4) to claim the 2026 Erinvale Open Champion.
We saw a three-way tie for second place of a score of 140 (-4), Daniel Copeman (Westlake) fired rounds 71 (-1) and 69 (-3), counted out in third was Naasir Khota with consistency of two rounds of 70 (-2) and first round leader Jacob Taskes was counted out in fourth place with rounds 69 (-3) and 71 (-1).

In the Women’s Division – we saw a three way tie for first place but only one player could claim first place. Kaitlyn Van De Vyver (Royal Cape) improved her second round by 1 shot to shoot 77 (+5) and 76 (+4) to be counted out in third place. Odette Booysen (Westlake) came fighting with a first round 80 (+8) and second round 73 (+1) to try and take the lead but Ashley Huysamen (Durbanville) came in with the best second round score and new person best of 70 (-2) after a first round 83 (+11) to take the lead and claim the Women’s Division title.
