The Somerset West Junior Championship produced excellent scoring and exciting competition across all divisions as the players took advantage of good playing conditions.

Wilan van der Berg claimed the overall championship title with a superb one-under-par 71, holding off a strong field to secure victory. The standout performance of the day came from Zayaan Hendricks, who recorded the best score of the tournament with a brilliant four-under-par 68 to comfortably win the Girls U/19 division.

Liam de Kock won the Boys U/15 division on level-par 72, while the Girls U/15 title required a count-out after Na-eema Hearne and Erin-Leigh Arnold both finished on 78. Na-eema’s stronger closing holes earned her the victory.

In the U/13 division, MC Fourie returned to the winner’s circle with a solid two-over-par 74, claiming another tournament title and continuing his consistent season.
