CHARLOTTE MILLARD DOMINATES ACKERMAN CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND

Charlotte

The prestigious 2026 Ackerman Championship took place over the weekend of 17–18 October 2026 at the picturesque Clovelly Country Club, bringing together some of the finest women and junior golfers for two days of exciting competition.

Clovelly’s beautifully maintained fairways, immaculate greens and challenging layout provided a spectacular setting, with the players producing impressive performances across all three divisions.

Championship Division – Gus Ackerman Trophy

The Championship Division delivered an exciting 54-hole battle, with Charlotte Millard (Killarney) setting the pace from the opening round. After carding an impressive 2-under-par 70, Millard followed with a 71 in round two to establish a commanding lead heading into the final round.

Isabella Ferreira (George) wasn’t going down without a fight, producing a brilliant final-round 69 to close the gap. However, Millard held her nerve, signing for a final-round 73 to claim the prestigious Gus Ackerman Trophy with a winning total of 2-under-par 214, three shots clear of Ferreira.

Kaitlyn van de Vyver (Royal Cape) secured third place with rounds of 75, 74 and 71 for a total of 220. Odette Booysen (Westlake) finished fourth on 231, followed by Zoey Rhoda (King David Mowbray) in fifth on 233.

Silver Division – Raymond Ackerman Trophy saw Karen Denman (Clovelly) put her home-course knowledge to excellent use. Opening with an 88, Denman stepped up her performance in the second round with an impressive 86, securing the Raymond Ackerman Trophy on 174, seven strokes clear of the field. Theresa Steytler (King David Mowbray) claimed second place with rounds of 90 and 91 for 181, while S. A. van Deventer (Robertson) rounded out the podium with rounds of 92 and 91 for 183.

The Bronze Division delivered one of the closest finishes of the weekend!

Competing over 36 holes of Stableford, Frances Payne (Clovelly) and Mia Wyngaard (King David Mowbray) were neck and neck throughout the competition. Both players opened with an impressive 38 points and followed with 34 points in round two to finish tied on 72 Stableford points. Payne was placed first after a count out, claiming the Jonathan Ackerman Trophy, with Wyngaard taking the runner-up position. Cindy Illing (King David Mowbray) completed the top three with two consistent rounds of 35 points, finishing on 70 points.
