As the oldest golf club in South Africa, Royal Cape Golf Club holds its own against some of the province’s elite players.

There were only five shots separating the overall Champions from the runners-up.

Milnerton 1 topped the morning session with a combined score of 224. An advantage of two shots over rivals Bellville 1.

As the afternoon wore on, the playing conditions became better as the sun emerged and the wind died down. It was quickly exploited by players, who capitalized on the scoring opportunities.

 Team Bellville 1 cranked up the gas pedal and distanced themselves from the competition.

As the afternoon session unfolded, Karl Ochse (Bellville) demonstrated class and superb golf, posting the lowest round of the day, a -6 (66). It was the low round that secured Bellville 1 the victory.

Jack Buchanan (Milnerton) opened with a 74 and bounced back with a -3 (69) in the afternoon. The Milnerton 1 team came up short.
