COLE WILLIAMS CRUISES TO THE TOP AT HAZENDAL

The Juniors took on the challenge of the Hazendal Par-3 course on Monday, 13 January 2025. With a points format used for this tournament, deviating from the usual Strokeplay format, the players were forced to adjust to a different kind of competition, but they handled it with skill.
Cole Williams topped the leaderboard with an impressive 38 points, two points better than par. His round featured 3 bogeys, but it was his remarkable 5 birdies that propelled him to victory. Williams’ consistent performance helped him finish one point ahead of Noah Lamb, securing the win.
In the U/15 division, Tyrese Smart displayed his impressive short game skills, finishing with 36 points, a level par round. Tyrese’s scorecard included 4 birdies, a double bogey, and two bogeys. His solid play secured him the division victory by a comfortable margin.
In the U/13 division, Christian Swanepoel demonstrated consistency and skill, finishing with 35 points. His round included 3 bogeys and 2 birdies, helping him win the division by a solid 3-point margin.
Kaitlyn Rix continued her fine form, winning the girls division with 32 points, 4 points clear of her nearest competitor. This marks her second consecutive victory as the best female player in the field, reinforcing her status as one to watch.
