Dramatic eagle finish at Erinvale Open
Premier Amateur Tour – Erinvale Open – Sunday 7 July 2019
A dramatic last hole eagle sealed another victory on the Premier Amateur Tour for Pearl Valley’s Keagan Thomas.
Thomas edged out his playing partner, Paarl’s Ethan Smith, who carded the lowest round of the event, a 5-under-par 67, into second spot at the Erinvale Open on Sunday.
Both players were at 4-under-par playing their last hole, the par 5, 3rd. It was Thomas who slotted his eagle putt while Smith could only manage a birdie. Royal Cape’s Cole Cruickshank finished third on 4-under-par.
Keagan’s run of form continues. This is Thomas’s second victory on the PAT. He won the Kuils River Open, and finished second at the Westlake Open.
