The Senior Series concluded at Parow Golf Club on Friday, August 16, 2024. A total of 32 golfers, including 11 Parow members, competed for crucial ranking points.

Known for rewarding long hitters off the tee, the course demands precise approach shots.

Greg Scrace (Erinvale) was in contention after posting a 36 on the front nine. Birdies were posted on holes 3 and 5, and bogeys on holes 2 and 8.

Duane Fisher (Royal Cape), who has been in fine form recently, shot a 36 on his front nine, including seven pars, one birdie, and one bogey. He was particularly impressive on the back nine, where he carded three birdies on four holes (11, 12 & 14). Duane finished with a 2-under-par 70, winning the Senior Series by four strokes over his nearest competitor, Greg.

Royal Cape’s achievements continued when club member Brian Mampies clinched the Super Senior prize. He finished with a two-shot lead over Parow’s John Paskin with a gross score of 74.

In the Stableford competition, Trevor Choto and Gabriel Barnard of Durbanville fought head-to-head. Gabriel’s outstanding play on the back nine garnered him 35 points, which enabled him to surpass Trevor by three points and secure the win.
