GREG WOODBRIDGE WINS MILNERTON SENIOR SERIES

Milnerton Golf Club set the scene for the second Senior Series tournament. As the morning rain subsided, the players were welcomed by calm conditions and ample scoring opportunities.
Cameron Johnston of Milnerton was resolute from the outset, notching two eagles on the front nine to card a 32. Craig Poulton from King David Mowbray Golf Club transformed the front nine into a birdie spree and posted an impressive five under par.
As the wind intensified after the turn, with players facing challenging finishing holes on their way back to the clubhouse, Craig found it difficult to maintain his lead, finishing with a two-over-par back nine for an overall score of 69. Cameron, too, made several bogeys on the back nine, capping off his round with a 69. Greg Woodbridge displayed a consistent performance, birdieing holes 6, 8, 10, and 13, with a lone bogey on hole 3. This culminated in a score of 69. Greg won through a countback procedure.
In the Stableford division, Marlon Heynes from Durbanville won with 31 points. He outpaced fellow Durbanville member Jonathan Londt and Michael Kirkland from Pearl Valley.
In the Super Senior Section, Richard Brooker of Royal Cape won by three shots over Henry Trevena, also of Royal Cape.
