ISABELLA FERREIRA CLAIMS WOMEN’S AMATEUR STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

The 2026 WP Women’s Amateur Championship took place at Westlake Golf Club on Sunday, 8 March 2026, where players were greeted by warm late-summer conditions with clear skies early on and a steady south-easterly breeze that gradually strengthened, adding an extra challenge as the day progressed.

 

Championship Division: The battle at the top was extremely tight, with Charlotte Millard from Killarney Country Club finishing just one shot behind on 144 (E) after rounds of 71 and 73. The championship came down to the final hole, where Charlotte’s putt proved to be the deciding factor, ultimately securing Ferreira’s victory by a single stroke in a dramatic finish.

After two rounds of competition, Isabella Ferreira of George Golf Club claimed the Championship Division title with a total of 143 (-1) following impressive rounds of 72 and 71. Odette Booysen from Westlake Golf Club finished third on 151 (+7) after rounds of 76 and 75. Kaitlyn van de Vyver of Royal Cape secured fourth place on 152 (+8), while Vicki Traut of Western Province finished fifth on the same total.

Silver Division: Erin-Leigh Arnold of Atlantic Beach Links deliver a standout performance to claim the title. Arnold set the tone early with an excellent 73 in the opening round and followed it up with a 76, finishing on 149 (+5) to secure a convincing victory. Tessa Granger from Westlake Golf Club finished in second place on 177, with rounds of 86 and 91, while Welmarie Greyling of Vredendal claimed third place on 179 after posting scores of 86 and 93.

C Division: players took to the course on Monday for their 18-hole competition, where Adele van der Westhuizen from Strand Golf Club produced a standout round to secure the division title. Van der Westhuizen carded a solid 87 (+15) to claim first place after a steady performance. Just behind her, Tanya Williams of WP-Milnerton finished in second place with a 92 (+20), while Ann Galloway from Westlake Golf Club matched that score of 92 (+20) to take third place on count-out.
