JURGEN VISSER & MATTHEW VAN ROOYEN WINS THE 2026 WP FOURSOMES
The 2026 Western Province Foursomes Championship was contested at Bellville Golf Club under challenging windy and overcast conditions, testing the skill and composure of the field throughout the day.
In Round 1, Adrian Ford (Durbanville) and Riaan Lewis (KD Mowbray) set the early pace with an impressive one-under-par 71. Close behind were Cole Cruickshank (Royal Cape) and Pietie Loubser (Westlake), who opened with a steady level-par 72. However, it was home-club pairing Jurgen Visser (Bellville) and Matthew van Rooyen (Bellville) who took full advantage of their local knowledge, producing a superb five-under-par 67 to claim the lead.
In the afternoon, the wind intensified, making scoring increasingly difficult. Ford and Lewis battled bravely to post a 75, moving into the clubhouse lead at two-over-par for a total of 146. Cruickshank and Loubser responded with a composed round of 70 to edge ahead in the clubhouse standings. Ultimately, Visser and van Rooyen once again demonstrated exceptional control and consistency, carding a four-under-par 68 to secure a commanding overall total.
Jurgen Visser and Matthew van Rooyen emerged as deserving champions, finishing nine-under-par to claim the 2026 Western Province Foursomes title.
Women’s Division –
Anelda Smith (Westlake) and Hayley Davis (Royal Cape) secured the Women’s Division title at the 2026 WP Foursomes. After posting a 79 in round 1, they led Jaden Visagie (KD Mowbray) and Zoey Rhoda (KD Mowbray) by 8 shots. Although Jaden Visagie and Zoey Rhoda made a comeback in round 2 with a 79, Anelda Smith and Hayley Davis total score was sufficient to secure the title by 2 shots.
