NICHOLAS SCHRIEDER CONTINUES HIS BRILLIANT FORM AT KING DAVID MOWBRAY

King David Mowbray Golf Club hosted their Junior Championship on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, attracting a strong field of talented players eager to compete on the picturesque course and vie for top spot.

Nicholas Schrieder and Conrick Lucas were the standout performers of the day, both finishing with an impressive 1-under par 71. Conrick displayed remarkable consistency, carding 3 bogeys and 4 birdies with nines of 36 and 35. Nicholas, on the other hand, had a more eventful round, with 3 bogeys, a double bogey, and 6 birdies for his 71. The two players went head-to-head in a playoff for the Championship, and it was Nicholas who triumphed, securing victory with a birdie on the second playoff hole. This marks his second win in just four tournaments, continuing his outstanding form.

Zach Potgieter emerged as the winner with a score of 73 in the U/15 division. His front nine featured 2 birdies and 2 bogeys for an even-par 36. While he made 3 more bogeys on the back nine, Zach stayed focused and managed to secure the victory with birdies on the 11th and 13th holes, ultimately clinching a 1-shot win in his division.

The U/13 division was claimed by Nicholas Jansen van Rensburg, whose steady play included 3 bogeys, 3 birdies, and 12 pars for a level par 72. Nicholas topped the division by 3 shots, finishing ahead of his closest competitor, Christian Swanepoel.
