Somerset West Golf Club played host the annual Wilkinson Greensomes. Players showed up looking to have a fun day out on the course playing a fun format of Greensomes, with a turnout of 46 female golfers and 8 male golfers in the field. The skies were scattered with clouds, but the sun was not shy to stay throughout the afternoon and the wind making its presence known especially on the links side of the course players still managed to produce good scores.

In the men’s division we had Dewald and Flip Niemandt, from Atlantic Beach Links, took home both the Nett and Gross prize with a 75 Gross and a 66,4 Nett Score.

The Women’s Gross prize saw Jaden Visagie and June Watson, King David Mowbray, finish one shot behind the leaders with a score of 78 Gross behind Beverly Button (Metropolitan) and Candice Woodbridge (Atlantic Beach) who carded a Gross 77 claiming First place.

Onto the main Nett prizes we saw some great scores coming in from the ladies, in third place, Somerset West locals Marcelles du Toit and Annette Bezuidenhout signed a Nett score of 68,2. A tight second place from the 2024 Champions Erica Lefson and Linda Venter (Rondebosch) on a Nett score of 67,6 – neighbouring locals from Strand Golf Club we saw Susan Oosthuizen and Gail Barnard claim the title on a great Nett score of 67,4.
