he 2026 Steenberg Open was played on Sunday, 2 August, with players taking on 36 holes on a calm and sunny winter’s day. Steenberg Golf Club provided a beautiful yet challenging setting, with tricky pin placements testing the field throughout the day and producing an exciting battle for the titles.

 

In the Men’s Division, the fight for the Men’s title went right down to the wire. In the end, Pietie Loubser (Westlake) produced a clutch finish, birdieing the 18th hole to claim the 2026 Steenberg Open title at 7-under-par 137, finishing one shot ahead of Joshua Wiese (Atlantic Beach Links), who signed for a 6-under-par 138.

The 2025 Steenberg Open Champion, Shaun Le Roux (Milnerton), put up a strong challenge to finish in third place on 4-under-par 140. Cole Cruickshank was hot on his heels, finishing just one shot further back on 3-under-par 141, helped by an eagle on the 18th. Rounding out the top five was Daniel Copeman (King David Mowbray) on 1-under-par 143.

 

In the Women’s Division, Chloé Utterson (Steenberg) made full use of her home-course knowledge to produce an impressive performance against a strong field. Chloé carded rounds of 78 and 76 to finish on 154, with a memorable hole-in-one on the 2nd hole adding to her day and helping her secure the Women’s Champion title.

Kaitlyn van de Vyver (Royal Cape) claimed the runner-up position, finishing two shots behind Chloé after rounds of 81 and 75 for a total of 156. In third place was Vicki Traut (Erinvale), who finished with rounds of 75 and 82.
