Premier League Round 3
Early morning rain didn’t dampen the title race hopes for Westlake at Round 3 of the Premier League held on Sunday at Westlake Club. They took maximum points from their fixture. Their wins against, both Rondebosch (6.5 / 2.5) and Strand (5.5 / 3.5) were clinical.
Closest rivals, Milnerton B and Milnerton A could only manage one win against their respective opposition, thus allowing Westlake to top the log with 10 points. Milnerton B sits on 9 points closely followed by Milnerton A on 8 points.
So, it is all to play for at the final Premier league fixture on Sunday, 19 February at Bellville.
Westlake take on Royal Cape, who have only won match; and Milnerton A who trial Westlake by two points on the logs.
While there is never a given in golf, Milnerton B take on Clovelly who have yet to win a match; and Strand, who have now have lost four matches in a row. Wins from these matches for Milnerton B will really put the pressure on Westlake to come out on top and successfully defend their title.
King David Mowbray need only to win one of their two remaining matches to take top honours in the Reserve League. WP Invitational need to beat both King David Mowbray and the SAGDB to tie the top of the log.
