The Steenberg pair of Lisa Kowen and Di Brooks outplayed the field at the Wilkinson Greensomes held at Westlake on Monday. A gross 78, and nett score of 69.2 was enough to take the title from their clubmates, Jenny Houston and Gwen Ortlepp on a nett 70.8.

Kowen and Brooks, who also picked up the Best Gross 78, were the joint champions last year when they shared the title with Westlake’s Tessa Granger and Emelia Brown.

Rondebosch’s Gaby Gramm and Linda Venter finished third on 72.4 with KD Mowbray’s sisters, Lorraine Smit and June Watson fourth 72.6.

You could be fooled in thinking it was winter, with a hot sunny day, and the infamous Westlake greens running fast.
