The annual Winter Team Championship delivered an exciting day of golf as a full field of 20 teams took to the fairways of Strand Golf Club for a 36-hole showdown.

After the opening round, Royal Cape Golf Club held a narrow lead, with Clovelly Country Club close behind. An outstanding opening-round score of 64 from Cole Cruickshank propelled Royal Cape to the top of the leaderboard.

Conditions throughout the day were ideal, presenting plenty of scoring opportunities. With little to no wind at Strand, players were able to attack the course, and birdies were plentiful.

In the second round, the host club showcased its depth and determination, producing a strong team performance to overtake Royal Cape and claim victory. Gideon van der Vyver was a key contributor, firing a second-round 67 to help secure the championship. Strand successfully defended its title, winning the 2026 Winter Team Championship for the second consecutive year with a winning total of 421.

The individual honours went to Cole Cruickshank, who carded a superb 133 (-11) across the two rounds. Nicolas van der Vyver finished runner-up, while Dan Copeman completed the podium in third place.
