The 2025 Silver and Bronze Cup was proudly hosted at the scenic Milnerton Golf Club. Players were welcomed by beautiful sunshine and a light breeze—ideal conditions for the 18-hole stroke play challenge.

This year marked the 49th playing of the prestigious Cups, which originally began as a women’s-only tournament. 2025 is just the second year that entries were open to male golfers.

Milnerton presented players with outstanding course conditions, featuring fast, true-rolling greens. With 42 players competing—16 men and 26 women—ranging in age from 12 to 73 years old, it was sure to be an enjoyable day!

Men’s Silver Division, Wesley Redgard (Cape Peninsula), in his tournament debut, claimed first place with a net score of 72, winning on a count-out. Fellow debutant Shaamil Thorne (Cape Peninsula) also carded a net 72 and secured second place. Juninho Claasen (Cathedral Peak) recorded the best gross score of the division with a 76.

Men’s Bronze Division, Joshua Kim (Somerset West), playing in his first Western Province tournament, achieved a remarkable double victory—winning both the net and gross prizes with a net score of 72.

Women’s Silver Division, Isabella Heber (King David Mowbray), a member of the Junior Girls Squad, delivered a fantastic performance, carding a net 70 to win both the net and gross prizes. Close behind were Sue Coates and Tessa Granger (both from Westlake), each posting a net 72. Coates was awarded second place on a count-out.

Women’s Bronze Division, Cheryl Anne Murphy (Durbanville) claimed top honours with an impressive net score of 66, finishing four shots ahead of Milnerton local Ntoti Morojele, who secured second place. Tanya Williams, also from Milnerton, earned the gross prize with a score of 90.
