The Hazendal Par 3 Challenge was well attended with over 80 juniors enjoying the hot and relatively windless conditions. The course offers panoramic views of wine country. This 18-hole Par 3 course offers a challenging yet entertaining round of golf with large undulating bent grass greens that are in championship condition.

A highlight of the day was the hole-in-one recorded by Ashley Huysamen (Durbanville) at the 11th hole – this follows shortly after another young lady, Anne-Isabel Scheltema, achieved this rare feat 2 days earlier in the Bellville Junior Championship.

The overall winner on the day was 16-year-old Erinvale member Philco Venter. He completed the 18-hole course in 2 under par – 3 birdies and a single bogey.

The division winners were as follows:

Boys under 13: Luke Jacobs (Royal Cape) – level par 54

Boys under 15: Arman Patel (Steenberg) – 1 over par 55

Boys under 19: Philco Venter (Erinvale) – 2 under par 52

Girls under 15: Kaitlyn Rix (Durbanville) – 6 over par 60

Girls under 19: Jaden Visagie (KD Mowbray) – 2 over par 56
