The Rules of Golf – they are about to change
Sign up now for the R&A’s Rules Modernisation Seminars
The Rules of Golf are scheduled for a massive shakeup in 2019, and anyone whose role, whether at club level or a tournament level, needs a sound understanding of the Rules of Golf will need to brush up on their rules knowledge and, importantly, requalify as an accredited R&A Rules Official.
GolfRSA will be running a series of two-day Golf Rules Modernisation Seminars across the country in order to educate rules officials about the changes and conduct rules examinations.
The two-day courses cost R1 000 per person and include preparation material, rules books, lunch and tea on both days.
It’s not only rules officials who would benefit greatly from this seminar, as the Golf Directors, CMASA members, PGA professionals, golf club committee members and union officials should all consider attending as the Rules Modernisation affects all course markings, local rules and competition rules.
Even the golf club scorecards will be affected, with new local rules needing to be printed on the back. With the new USGA Course Rating (including Slope) system launching on 3rd September 2018, it is a good time for clubs to relook at their scorecards in order to include both the new course ratings and the new local rules.
