Durbanville Golf Club or better known as the Jewel of the North hosted the Western Province Mid-Am and Senior Championships this past Sunday.

The course was sure to test the ladies from the start due to the amount of rainfall over the past few weeks. Conditions on the day were perfect and Durbanville delivered with immaculate greens which gave the ladies great scoring opportunities.

Hayley Davis (Royal Cape) had a 3 shot lead heading into the last 18 holes over Vicki Traut (Erinvale). Hayley and Vicki were tied at the top with 4 holes left to play but Vicki came out on top with a one-shot victory over Hayley in the Mid-Am Championship division.

In the Senior Championship division, consistent golf from Beverley Button (Metropolitan) over 36 holes, secured her an incredible 11 shot victory over Candice Woodbridge from Atlantic Beach.

The Mid-Am Silver division saw Westlake member, Anelda Oosthuizen, going into the final 18 holes with a healthy lead and was able to hold on to ensure a 9 shot victory over Adri Voster.

Karen Lorio and Erica Lefson kept the silver Senior division captivating as Karen Lorio (Bellville) took the title with a 3 shot victory.

The Bronze division saw a healthy fight between Susan Oosthuizen, Nicolene Mans and Durbanville member, Rosa-Linda Wessels. Nicole Mans kept her round under control and was able to secure victory in the Stableford Senior division.
