Western Province Golf Secures Hat-Trick at SA Premier Men’s Interprovincial
The Western Province Golf Executive Committee proudly congratulates the Western Province Men’s team on securing a historic third consecutive victory at the SA Premier Men’s Interprovincial Tournament.
This exceptional achievement sees Western Province match its own distinguished record, equalling previous three-peat successes recorded in 1996–1998 and again from 2002–2004, further reinforcing the Union’s standing in South African amateur golf.
The Executive Committee recognises the exceptional consistency and leadership demonstrated throughout this period. Under the guidance of Manager Werner Theart and Captain Andrew Georgiou, who have led the team across all three campaigns, the side has embodied the values of discipline, unity, and excellence.
Particularly noteworthy is the contribution of five players— Cole Cruikshank, Andrew Georgiou, Shaun le Roux, Andries van der Vyver and Henru Walters —who have been ever-present throughout all three successive victories. Their sustained excellence reflects both the depth of talent within the Union and the strength of a culture built on continuity and high performance.
Competing under challenging weather and course conditions, the team displayed resilience, composure, and immense pride in representing Western Province. Their performance is a credit not only to the players and management, but to the broader structures supporting amateur golf within the Union.
The Executive Committee extends its sincere appreciation to the team, the manager, and all those who have contributed to this achievement. This historic milestone is a proud moment for Western Province Golf and its affiliated clubs.
