2024 SILVER & BRONZE CUP RESULTS

Players had to endure temperatures reaching 32 degrees, a true test of their endurance. This year marks the 48th Cup. First time ever, entries were open to male players as well – and judging by the turnout, it was well received! The tournament featured 74 players (29 males & 45 females).

In the Men’s Silver Division, Westlake local Wayne Arende won the first title with a score of 71 (net). In second place, David Cock (Westlake) posted a net score of 73. The best gross on the day was secured by Derek Lloyd (Westlake) with a score of 78.

Tiaan Oosthuizen won the Bronze Division with an impressive net score of 67, topping both the net and gross categories.

The Silver Division was also closely contested as Inge de Beer (Durbanville) prevailed over Odette Booysen (Royal Cape). Inge won with a 71 net, followed by Odette with a 73 net. Odette won by 4 shots over Heidi Pentz (Steenberg) with the best gross score of the day, a 75.

Westlake players dominated the Bronze Division with Gill Baxter taking the Bronze Cup with a net score of 69. Carding a 92, she finished 2nd in gross. Gail Thane, another Westlake local, placed 2nd in the Bronze Net Division, but beat Gill by 2 shots in the Gross Division.
