The 2025 Bradshaw Cup marked the much-anticipated return of the prestigious foursomes championship—held for the first time since 2022. Hosted at Strand Golf Club, featuring some of the Western Province’s finest amateur golfers.
Saturday’s knockout rounds kicked off with Milnerton, King David Mowbray, Westlake, and Atlantic Beach earning byes into Round 2. The remaining teams battled it out early, setting up an exciting afternoon of quarter-final clashes.
One of the standout matches saw Atlantic Beach edge out Royal Cape with a narrow 1-up victory, showcasing nerves of steel down the final stretch. Meanwhile, Westlake cruised through comfortably, with Durbanville and Clovelly also securing convincing wins to book their places in the semi-finals.
Sunday’s semi-final line-up featured Westlake versus Atlantic Beach, and Clovelly taking on the defending champions, Durbanville. Clovelly delivered a statement performance, dismantling Durbanville with a dominant 10-up result. On the other side, Westlake and Atlantic Beach traded blows in a closely contested match where Westlake secured a dramatic 1-up win.
With the final set between Clovelly and Westlake, anticipation was high. In windy conditions, both sides displayed remarkable shot-making and resilience. The lead shifted multiple times, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. As cheers rang out from the 18th hole, Westlake sealed the deal, claiming the title of 2025 Bradshaw Foursomes Champions.
