Sandra Winter and Sonja Bland manoevered themselves through the mist to the top of their respective leader boards at the Women’s Mid-Amateur & Senior Championships held at Erinvale last weekend.

Winter (George), with rounds of 73-77 managed to hold off her challengers to win by four from Erinvale’s Vicki Traut 77-77 and Paarl’s Vanessa Smith 76-78 to win her first WP Mid-Amateur Championship title.  She continued her good form from finishing second at the Southern Cape Mid-Amateur Championships and tied for fifth spot at the Boland Mid-Amateur.

Fancourt’s Sonja Bland secured her second WP Senior title when she outplayed, Rondebosch’s Amanda Ogden and Erinvale’s Josephine Greaver winning by three shots.
