Greg Woodbridge – Royal Cape Senior Open Champion

6 October 2023 – The Royal Cape Senior Open was greeted by a fierce south easter, which made scoring extremely difficult for the players.

It took creative thinking and skillful shots to put together a round.

The tournament was well supported, with 57 players taking part, making it one of the most successful on the Senior Series circuit to date.

Greg Woodbridge (Atlantic Beach Links) posted a gross 73 to win the Royal Cape Senior Series by two shots.

Greg Scrace (Erinvale) finished second with a gross 75 (c/i). Third place belonged to Paarl member Frans Lohbauer with a gross 75 (c/o) and 4th place to Ralph Fransman from Somerset West.

The nett prize was won by Guy Reynolds (Royal Cape) with a nett score of 73 (c/i). Henry Trevena (Royal Cape) won the super seniors division with a gross score of 80.

The Stableford division was won by Marlon Heynes (Kuils River) with 33 points.

Players enjoyed every moment of the event, and it turned out to be a success.
